Judging and the Academy

All entries for The Communicator Awards are reviewed by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA), an assembly of industry leaders from acclaimed brands, institutions and agencies including experts from PepsiCo, Accenture, NASA/JPL, FedEx, Netflix, Big Spaceship, National Geographic Society and more.

Judging Process

  • At the start of the judging process, all Jurors are provided with the specific criteria for each category.
  • All work is evaluated on its own merit, based on a standard of excellence as determined by the AIVA and, as such, a category may have several or no winners at the end of the process.
  • Entries are scored on a ten point scale by the Jurors.
  • Excellence Winners generally receive a score of 9 or above.
  • Distinction Winners generally receive a score of 7 to 8.9.
  • All decisions of the Jurors are final.

Notification

Judging for The Communicator Awards will be completed in April and entrants will be notified by email and postal mail in early May as to the status of their entries. At that time, Excellence and Distinction Winners will be provided the opportunity to secure their statuettes & winners’ certificates.
