What are your top three podcast genres?

Educational. Documentary. True Crime.

What was your first job?

My first job was at an FM radio station. I started as a DJ, spinning tunes back before mobile devices and the internet made it all so easy. For this reason, I have an appreciation for quality audio production. I’ve always been drawn to it, and I know how important it is to make it right.

What are your top three mobile apps?

I spend a good deal of time on Spotify for music and podcasts. WhatsApp is great [for] staying in touch with my remote team members. And of course, I’d love to invite readers to join me in [using] my new app, Rugged Compass—built for those who seek meaningful travel experiences.

What is your favorite podcast streaming platform and why?

I’m a fan of Spotify. It’s designed well, looks great, and I find it to be the most functional and enjoyable to use. I tend to jump from podcasts to music throughout the day. Spotify makes this easy.

What docuseries have you enjoyed recently?

The Innocence Files, Ancient Apocalypse, and a good re-watch of my all-time favorite: Survivorman from Les Stroud. I would love to invite readers to check out my documentary film, The Edge of Adventure with Adam Asher, streaming now on Prime, Apple TV and Tubi.

What are you looking for in podcast entries for the Communicator Awards?

Great podcasts understand how to bring substance succinctly. Your podcast should deliver content quickly, in a professional manner, and it needs to keep moving.
