ACCOUNT/REGISTRATION

Q. Why do I have to register for an account?
A. Registering creates an account for you to use throughout the awards process. You can use the account to submit entries, check the status of entries, order your awards and update your personal information at anytime. You can register here. For more information on how this information is used, please review our Privacy Policy.

Q. How do I update my account information?
A. You can update your information by visiting your Account Profile.

ENTRIES

Q. In what category should I enter my work?
A. Please enter your work into the category or categories that you feel are most appropriate. Often there is more than one category that fits each entry. You can enter in to more than one category.

Q. What if I can’t find a category that fits my work?
A. All work is different. If you don’t think there is a specific category suitable for your entry, please enter your work into the ‘Other’ category. If our jurors feel that your entry is more appropriate for a specific category, they will move the entry to the suitable category. We are always looking to refine and update our categories, so if there is a category you would like to see, please email us a suggestion at info@communicatorawards.com.

Q. Can I enter the same piece in several different categories?
A. Many of our entries are entered into multiple categories. You may enter a piece in as many categories as are appropriate for each entry, and your entry will be reviewed separately for each category entered. Please note that the entry fee is due for each category entered.

Q. How many winners are there per category?
A. There may be several winners in a certain category or there may be none. Winners are chosen based on the content of their piece; there are not a set number of winners per category. Jurors evaluate entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other-rather entries are reviewed against a high standard of merit.

Q. How do I upload my entries later?
A. If you selected the option to “Upload Files Later” during the entry process, follow these steps to upload your work.

  • Log in to your account here.
  • Select “Upload Files”.
  • Select “View” to see a list of entries that need uploaded.
  • Select the “ID#” of the entry.
  • Select “Browse” to choose your file.
  • Once the file has finished uploading, select “Submit”.

Q. I uploaded my entries. Do I still have to send them to you?
A. If you uploaded a file for your entry, or your entry was a URL, you do not have to send anything else for that entry.

Q. I chose to send my files. Can I just upload them instead?
A. If you need to replace an uploaded file, or would like to upload your file instead of mailing it, please contact customerservice@communicatorawards.com for assistance.

Juror Review

Q. Who are the jurors?
A. The Communicator Awards is overseen and sanctioned by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms. AIVA members include executives from organizations such as Airtype Studio, Big Spaceship, Conde Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, Lockheed Martin, MTV Networks, Pitney Bowes, rabble+rouser, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Time, Inc, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, and Yahoo! Q. Can I get jurors’ comments about my piece?
A. Currently, we do not release detailed commentary or individual review scoring for entries. As the Communicator Awards is a large contest with thousands of entries annually, there are simply too many entries to be able to provide valuable and substantial feedback for each entry.

Q. When will I know if I’ve won?
A. Entrants will be notified of final results once review is completed. This is usually complete by late April / early May.

Q. Where can I find a list of winners?
A. All Award of Excellence Winners are listed on our website. Simply click here to view our winners page.

Q. What is the Communicator Winners Gallery?
A. The Award of Excellence Winners are featured in the Communicator Winners Gallery to provide additional exposure and recognition as a top level award winner.

Communicator Winners Gallery Note: All Award of Excellence winners will be featured in the Winners Gallery. If you would like to replace the gallery images for your winning piece, please email us. Format and sizing requirements are below:

  • For print based entries: submit your work in either .jpg or .gif format. Maximum width: 640 px
  • For screen-viewed entries: submit a screenshot of your work (film/video/web/interactive) in either .jpg or .gif format Maximum width: 640px
  • For audio entries: submit an image that represents your work in either .jpg or .gif format. Maximum width: 640 px
  • Please include all pieces on one disc and include the entry # in the file name

ORDERS

Q. How can I get duplicate award statuettes?
A. When entrants are notified that they have been chosen as winners, they will receive the appropriate forms to purchase their acceptance awards. Each winner is able to order as many duplicates as they would like for clients, team members or anyone else who participated in the creation of the winning piece. To be sure only Communicator Winners are able to receive trophies, only your company (the company that entered the winning piece) can order an award. If a client wishes to order duplicate awards, they must order through the entering company or get the appropriate entry number from the entering company. Please call us at (212) 675-3555 if you have any questions. Awards may be ordered at our new online store or by mail.

Q. How long does it take to get my awards?
A. Each statuette is custom produced. We produce statuettes in the order that orders are received. Typically, statuettes will be shipped to you approximately six to eight weeks from the date that we receive your order. Certificates will be shipped to you in approximately six weeks. Statuettes and Certificates will be shipped separately.

Q. Can I change the information that I would like to appear on my statuettes and certificates?
A. You may have anything you like engraved on your statuettes or printed on your certificates. For statuettes, you are limited to 4 lines with 26 characters per line including spaces. For certificates, you are limited to 4 lines with 30 characters per line, including spaces.
